About this Opportunity:

As a Staff Data Engineer, you will be the cornerstone of our data operations, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines, creating insightful reports and dashboards, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our data. You will work closely with various departments to understand their data needs, translate them into actionable solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on Beanfield’s business intelligence strategy.

What you’ll be doing:

Data Pipeline Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines.
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into our data lakes and data warehouse.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and ensure data quality.

Reporting and Dashboard Creation:

  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Translate business requirements into clear and actionable data visualizations.
  • Using and assessing Business Intelligence tools.

Data Warehouse Management:

  • Maintain and optimize our data warehouse.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and performance.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, and operations, to understand their data needs.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of data pipelines, reports, and dashboards.

Data Governance:

  • Implement and enforce data quality standards and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.

People Management:

  • Lead a team of two software engineers working on data engineering and AI engineering implementations.

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in software or data engineering.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming.
  • Hands-on experience building and managing data pipelines.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Ability to quickly learn and evaluate new technologies.
